John Fawcett, violin

John Fawcett is a violinist from Central Oregon with a passion for solo, orchestral, early and fiddle music. Since his solo orchestral debut at age nine, he has performed with numerous orchestras and ensembles such as the Central Oregon Symphony, Oregon Mozart Players, the Sunriver Music Festival Orchestra, the American Youth Symphony and Pink Martini. John has also been recognized nationally as a National YoungArts winner, MTNA National Senior Strings Finalist and his 2-time positions in the New York String Orchestra Seminar. In addition, he has been featured on From the Top, a radio show aired on NPR which presents select young musicians around the country. After graduating in Los Angeles from the Colburn Conservatory studying with Robert Lipsett, John is pursuing a 2-year Masters in Music degree with Jaime Laredo at the Cleveland Institute of Music. During his time in Cleveland, Mr. Fawcett is one of the two Artists-in-Residence at Judson-Manor, a Senior Living Facility that coordinates a partnership program with the nearby conservatory. As violin may be Fawcett’s focus, his enthusiasm for music manifests as a pianist and composer/arranger as well. When John is not immersed in music, he enjoys long treks in nature, watching movies and eating spicy food.
