Performer Biography
Elizabeth Frey
Elizabeth Frey, mezzo-soprano, holds a Master’s degree and a Professional Studies degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music in Opera Performance. She has been lauded by critics for her “warm, shimmering voice” and “engaging stage presence.”
With the Cleveland Institute of Music Opera Theatre, Ms. Frey performed the roles of Sesto in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito, Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Ruggiero in Handel’s Alcina, Arsamene in Handel’s Serse, Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, Madame de la Haltière in Massenet’s Cendrillon, among others.
Appearances elsewhere include Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro with the Maryland Opera Society, Buttercup in H.M.S Pinafore and Susie in Puccini’s La Rondine with Cleveland Opera Theater, and Second lady in Die Zauberflöte with Opera Circle. Ms. Frey was a Des Moines Metro Opera apprentice in 2012. She is currently serving as Assistant Stage Director at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
