Performer Biography

Daniel Lopez

Daniel Lopez is a flutist and composer from Chicago, IL. He currently studies with Mary Kay Fink at the Cleveland Institute of Music. As an avid chamber musician, he is part of the Aeronaut Quintet, a Cleveland-based woodwind quintet made up of CIM students. As a composer and arranger, Lopez has arranged several works for woodwind quintets, string ensembles, and has written several pieces for flute and mixed chamber groups. This past summer, Daniel was a part of the 110th Degree, a mixed instrumental ensemble based in Fresno, CA, where he and other musicians from around the country premiered several small works for the communities of Fresno and San Jose. Daniel has currently received commissions for a double bass and French horn sonatas to be premiered in Spring and Fall of 2023.
