Anna Bates Gerber
Anna Bates Gerber is passionate about sharing the joy of music with others. An active musician throughout Northeast Ohio, Anna recently performed the Bloch Suite 1919 as soloist in Severance Hall with the CIM Orchestra. As violist of the Kalos Quartet she has participated in festivals such as the McGill International String Quartet Academy and regularly performs throughout the greater Cleveland area. Anna also performs with the Akron and Firelands Symphony Orchestras and has appeared as principal violist with orchestras at the Masterworks Festival, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Colorado College Summer Music Festival.
Originally from South Jersey, Anna moved to Cleveland to study at the Cleveland Institute of Music. There she studied with Mark Jackobs and Robert Vernon, graduating with both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in viola performance. She was also certified in Suzuki pedagogy and earned minors in piano and music theory.
