Performer Biography
Alina Kobialka
Violinist Alina Kobialka has been praised as a remarkable young soloist due to her beautiful tone, effortless precision, and musical maturity beyond her years. After her first guest solo appearance with orchestra at the age of ten, she has toured and performed with many ensembles. The San Francisco Classical Voice described her as a “jaw-droppingly assured” soloist, who “made present and future converge.” The Las Vegas Review Journal wrote, “Watch for her name. She appears to be bound for greatness.”
At the age of 13, Alina won the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra’s Concerto Competition and performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the orchestra. The following summer, she toured with them throughout Europe, performing in some of the continent’s most prestigious halls and festivals, including the Berlin Philharmonie and Rheingau Musik Festival. A year later, Ms. Kobialka made her solo debut with the San Francisco Symphony at their 100th Anniversary Reunion Concert in Davies Symphony Hall, where she has since returned twice as a soloist. She was also featured live on the nationally acclaimed radio show NPR’s From the Top. In 2014, Alina made her debut with the Las Vegas Philharmonic, and was featured on the morning show “Vegas Morning Blend” on ABC. Later that year, she performed with renowned violinist Laurent Korcia and the Colburn Academy Virtuosi Orchestra at the Colburn School. She also toured with the Kagawa International Intercultural Youth Orchestra in Japan. Ms. Kobialka began 2015 in Asia, where she performed with the Macau Youth Symphony for their New Years’ Concert, and was featured on the Macau Morning Show. She also made her debut with the California Symphony, and returned as a guest soloist with Symphony Parnassus for their 25th Anniversary Concert.
Alina was awarded second prize at the 2017 inaugural Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition as the youngest competitor. Recent notable concerts include making her debut in the Shanghai International Arts Festival Gala Concert, the San Francisco Symphony’s SoundBox Concert Series, and with Vadim Gluzman and the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra.
This past summer, she made her debut with the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, and returned as an artist at the Marlboro Music Festival, where she performed with Dame Mitsuko Uchida, Kim Kashkashian, Scott St. John, and many other acclaimed musicians. She also recently soloed with world-renowned conductor Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony. Upcoming concert engagements include a guest artist recital at Southwestern University in Texas, Brahms Double Concerto for Violin and Cello with the California Symphony, and three Marlboro National Tours.
