May 23, 2026 “Two Pianos and More”

The afternoon concert celebrated the brilliance and versatility of music for two pianos, weaving together dazzling keyboard collaborations with chamber works for violin and piano and expressive vocal selections. Audiences were treated to an exhilarating range of repertoire, from Lutosławski’s virtuosic Paganini Variations and Rachmaninoff’s lyrical Romance to Ravel’s electrifying La Valse and the vibrant dances of Rapsodie espagnole. Interspersed throughout the program were elegant works by Debussy, Sarasate, Puccini, Rorem, and Irving Berlin, offering moments of intimacy, lyricism, and charm before the concert concluded with a thrilling eight-hand piano arrangement of Beethoven’s iconic Fifth Symphony.
