Performer Biography

Liam Smith, percussion, has worked extensively in the worlds of contemporary music, as well as in folkloric and orchestral percussion, and is an in-demand dance accompanist. He has performed throughout Europe and South America, and has premiered works by James Wood, Vijay Ayer, and many other contemporary composers. Here in Cleveland, Smith performs regularly with Da Land Brass Band, Group Precisão, Samba da Cidade, Moises Borges, and the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared with a diverse range of artists, from Gil Shaham to Natchito Herrera to Weezer. Also a composer, Smith has written for ensembles such as the Zeitgeist New Music Ensemble, and several dance and theatrical projects across the country.”
