Lourdes Pinney

Originally from Henderson, Nevada, Lourdes Pinney has been playing viola since the age of ten, after seven years of playing violin. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music under Jeffrey Irvine, where she was awarded the Ernest Bloch Artistic Distinction Scholarship. This past summer, Lola attended the Taos School of Music where she studied numerous string quartets with the Borromeo String Quartet, Jupiter String Quartet, and Cooperstown String Quartet. Lourdes was appointed as a member of the Canton Symphony Orchestra and held the associate principal seat in the New York String Orchestra Seminar in 2023. In the past, she has played in the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Japan, the Aspen Festival Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America, and the Idyllwild Arts Orchestra. Additionally, Lourdes was a member of the Onyx Quartet, which participated in the Juilliard String Quartet Seminar and advanced to the Finals of the Coltman Competition. Lourdes has won numerous competitions, including the first place award in the Ohio Viola Society, the Darius Milhaud Competition at CIM, and the Music Teachers National Association Competition (MTNA).
