Biography: Jennifer Magistrelli

Jennifer Magistrelli is the 2nd and bass clarinetist for ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, Ohio. She resides in the Cleveland area and is on the faculty of the Aurora School of Music in Aurora, Ohio. She has appeared with the Akron and Canton Symphonies, the Erie Philharmonic and Johnstown Symphony in Johnstown, PA. She has also performed with the Cleveland Opera and with the International Opera Theatre in Italy. Jennifer is an active chamber music performer and is a founding member of the Aurora Trio, which has collaborated with ensembles such as the Black River String Quartet. She has also performed in numerous solo performances and recitals, and has been featured several times on WCLV, Cleveland’s classical music station.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor’s Degree in clarinet performance from Carnegie Mellon University, where she was a two time recipient of the Silberman Clarinet Award, and her Master of Music Degree from Northwestern University. She also studied at the Brevard Music Center and the Pierre Monteux School. Her primary teachers have been Thomas Thompson, J. Lawrie Bloom and Daniel Gilbert.
