Biography: Elliott Carlton Hines

Elliott Hines 2Baritone Elliott Carlton Hines is a native of Houston, Texas and studied at The Juilliard School under Edith Wiens and at Oberlin Conservatory under Salvatore Champagne.  Hines has performed the roles of Farasmane in Handel’s Radamisto and Pásek in Janásek’s The Cunning Little Vixen with Juilliard Opera as well as Don Inigo Gomez in Ravel’s L’Heure Espagnole and Krušina in Smetana’s The Bartered Bride with Oberlin Opera.  Hines has performed as Bass Soloist in Bach’s Matthäus-Passion under Gary Thor Wedow with Juilliard, as well Jesus in a newly reconstructed version of Bach’s Markus-Passion with Houston Bach Society.  He has also performed in Charpentier’s Actéon with William Christie.  Hines was a 2014 Gerdine Young Artist with Opera Theater of St. Louis and a 2014 Young Artist at the Internationale Meistersinger Akademie.
