Biography: Daniel Fridley

Daniel Fridley (bass-baritone) is a Master’s student at the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Dean Southern.  Described as having a “focused, darkly hued tone” (Cleveland Classical) as the Speaker of the Temple in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Opera Circle Cleveland, he has performed both Figaro in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Don Pedro in Berlioz’s Béatrice et Bénédict in productions at CIM.  Recently placing 2nd in his division at the Ohio National Association of Teachers of Singing competition, he also participated in the 2016 Cleveland Art Song Festival.  He also explores early music at Case Western Reserve University, both singing and playing various period instruments.
