Chloe de Souza is currently in her third year at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music pursuing her undergraduate studies, majoring in Vocal and Piano Performance under the tutelage of Salvatore Champagne and Peter Takàcs respectively.
De Souza’s achievements in the field of music, both vocal and piano, have been numerous. She has won both local and national competitions, including the third Con Brio All-India Piano Competition and Musiquest, an All-India Piano Festival held in Pune. At the age of 17, she completed her L.T.C.L (Licentiate of the Trinity College of Music, London) diploma. Her past performances include being featured as a soloist in Oberlin Conservatory’s Weill-style Cabaret. She has also performed at various charity events as both a pianist and a vocalist, including the Mrs. World Beauty Pageant in Amby Valley, and has conducted and accompanied choirs and performers for competitions and events.
De Souza has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Dame Felicity Lott, Karen Vourc’h and Dame Patricia Rozario. She has toured India two summers in a row, giving voice recitals with much acclaim. Last year, she toured India performing in the opera,”Dido and Aeneas”, covering the role of the first witch. She gave a recital of sacred vocal music at the Monte Festival in Goa on February 6th, 2015.
