Trio Céleste is quickly establishing itself as one of the most dynamic young ensembles in New York. Recently appointed Artists-in-Residence at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at the University of California, Irvine, violinist Iryna Krechkovsky, cellist Ross Gasworth, and pianist Kevin Kwan Loucks will be presenting the complete trio repertoire of Beethoven, and will be featured as soloists with the UC Irvine Symphony Orchestra performing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto under the direction of Stephen Tucker.
Additional highlights of their inaugural 2011-2012 season include recitals in Cleveland, New York, and Los Angeles, a recording project and three-week performance residency at The Banff Centre in Canada, and an ensemble residency with the Los Angeles-based composer’s group, Synchromy. They are mentored by cellist Colin Carr, pianist Julian Martin, and the Emerson String Quartet. Formed in 2010, the ensemble’s name was inspired by the autumnal equinox, a celestial event that aligned itself on the day the group first collaborated.
