Biography: Patrick Miller

Patrick Miller is from Herndon, Virginia. He began playing the viola at age 10 and took up private lessons a year later and continued all throughout high school. Patrick recently received a Bachelors degree in Viola Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the direction of Robert Vernon. During his time at Indiana University and the Cleveland Institute of Music, Patrick has sat principal and assistant principal of the school orchestras directed by esteemed conductors. His primary teachers include Robert Vernon, Ed Gazouleas, Peter Slowik, as well as others. Patrick has also been accepted to a number of summer festivals including the National Orchestral institute, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Tanglewood Music Center. He is a member of the Akron Symphony and is a substitute member of the Indianapolis Symphony and Canton Symphony, and plays with various other orchestras in the northeastern Ohio area.
