Born in Taipei, Taiwan, clarinetist Emily Liang moved to Irvine, California when she was 10, and started playing the clarinet when she was 12. Shortly after, she was accepted into Orange County High School of the Arts, and performed Weber Clarinet Concerto No.1 with the OCHSA Symphony Orchestra as the winner of their Concerto Competition. Emily was also the first prize winner at the 2009 Southwestern Youth Music Festival Solo Competition, and has attended Summer Camp at Wildwood and Idyllwild Arts Academy.
Ms. Liang received Graduate Performance Diploma and Bachelor of Music from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she studied with Michael Norsworthy and Jonathan Cohler. In her free time, she enjoys baking, bowling, running, and playing games with her friends and family.
