
Canadian violinist Iryna Krechkovsky has been featured as soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. A prizewinner at competitions including the Sorantin International Competition in Texas, the Canadian Music Competition in Montréal, and Kocian International Violin Competition in Czech Republic, Ms. Krechkovsky has appeared as soloist with the Canadian Academy Chamber Orchestra, Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, Toronto Sinfonietta, the Lviv National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, as well as with the orchestras of the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and Stony Brook University. Recent chamber music collaborations include performances with Denis Brott, Colin Carr, David Finckel, Gil Kalish, and Alan Kay. She also performed at the St. Lawrence Centre in Toronto, Staller Center for the Arts in New York, The American Church in Paris, Town Hall Seattle, the Schubert Club Courtroom Series in Minnesota, and the Moulin d’Andé in Normandy.
Ms. Krechkovsky is a founding member of newly formed Trio Céleste, with cellist Jacqueline Choi and pianist Kevin Loucks, as well as a member of the chamber orchestra CityMusic Cleveland, and New York Women’s Ensemble Orchestra. Equally active as an educator, Ms. Krechkovsky served on the artist-faculty of ChamberArtsFest in France, as a teaching assistant to Linda Cerone at the Cleveland Institute of Music and ENCORE School for Strings, and at Stony Brook University’s Pre-College Division. Most recently, she was Artist-in-Residence at Artosphere, Arkansas’ Arts and Nature Festival.
Other performing residencies includes San Angelo Piano Festival in Texas, and the Montreal Chamber Music Festival in Canada. Ms. Krechkovsky began violin studies at the age of six with her father Orest Krechkovsky in her native Ukraine, going on to receive both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music where she was awarded the Dr. Jerome Gross Prize. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Stony Brook University in New York. Her teachers include David and Linda Cerone, Philip Setzer, Philippe Graffin, and Pamela Frank.
